How to make the connection!

We talk often about strengthening our muscles but don’t talk enough about how to strengthen one of the most important areas of our lives and health-our relationships! Here are some practical tips you can take to help build your connections with those closest to you!

Daily Tips to strengthen your relationships:

• Practice intentional self-care today!
o Get a massage, go to a movie, visit a museum, move your body….in other words just have fun, but schedule it before the day
begins!
• Set Boundaries: Today, say “YES” to the best and “NO” to the rest!
• Allow yourself time to feel your own feelings today.
• Establish a “support” network to increase your experience of love and acceptance.
• Think of someone you love….tell them today!
• Hug someone and be PRESENT for that moment!
• If someone has hurt you, pray to see them through God’s eyes…ask for help in beginning to forgive today.
• Speak the Truth in love. Communicate clearly and safely today.
• Actively listen to your child, friend, neighbor, spouse and (look into their eyes) today.
• Establish and follow “ground rules” for “fighting fairly” and handling conflict.
• Share your feelings, needs and wants with the person you have conflict with today and look for resolution.
• Today, send someone you love a note, card or gift just to tell them you are thinking of them.
• Ask for forgiveness and begin to forgive yourself for that One thing and if you’re still
doing it STOP! One moment at time!
• Build into your relationship with God, wherever you are, today.
• Assist someone today.

• Challenge: Schedule a “ fun date” today with your significant relationships
(i.e. God, yourself, spouse, children, friends)
